clrs_exp
In contrast to photography, which captures a moment in time that is immediately in the past, painting on a two-dimensional surface (canvas) has something timeless about it. To a certain extent detached from the fact of being photographed, it shows neither space nor time from real encounters and is therefore purely fictitious. In clrs_exp, translucent color gradients lie on top of others and form columns or stones without real depth and like a multiple exposure. The many acrylic on canvas paintings by clrs_exp play with perception and evoke associations while one is immersed in the intensity of the colours. Within a layered principle, clrs_exp unfold in the process while fixing less of ideas and plans than a coincidence of colors.
Within one area of painting, Clrs_exp completely emancipates itself from narration and develops its own associative, subversive model of communication. This does not hold anything and leaves the process of recognition and reception to itself. In the classic sense, too, the narrative is outside the picture and refers to prior knowledge and recognition. Clrs_exp also relates to this while not specific. A totality of knowing as what is there is called upon and changed because new experiences become possible. Clrs_exp not only reveals known forms changed so that they can be subsumed under what is already known and are experienced as something new. As color in its element, surfaces independent of forms and states independent of their otherwise physical appearances. They are all represented and appropriated as thoughts and result from the material.
In zn flwr, the covered parts and glazed areas on a background covered with free colored lines also result in the shape of a stone, which here is reminiscent of the leaves of an opening bud. The shape of a flower can be seen across the entire surface, while the leaves are partly made up of colorful areas with a lot of depth and lie on top of others that are more or less monochromatic or vice versa. The shape is also reminiscent of that of a rock crystal, which allows one’s own energies to come back. The flower signifies the principle of love, which is the principle of life. Shakyamuni Buddha held up a flower to represent his teachings. The true form is non-form in Dharma. The mysterious gateway of the Dharma cannot be expressed in words and letters. In Zen, with the knowledge of the flower, I know my own self, because I no longer flee into a duality, into separations between the perceiver and the perceived, into the object and the non-object. Zen means penetrating the object.
An artistic work becomes reality and takes shape, it is transformed from the realm of idea or imagination into a physical formation. The material results from the idea, in clrs_exp it is the classic, actually overloaded medium of painting on canvas, from which the art world has long since said goodbye. Clrs_exp still works conceptually and like a language. Without performing parts, they express a worldview or macroscopic dimension. Like a thought community, clrs_exp is a mirror of the world that transcends the abilities of linguistic expression. Clrs_exp establishes new relationships and allows for reflection of existing ones. A creative, dialogic and integrating relationship grows out of communication. In mutual exchange we can reflect and reform ourselves and our imprints that form our views. In the realm of ambiguity, contradictions and conflicts, art enables an exchange and comparison of knowledge and worldviews. Art can make conflicts conscious and override them.
