Dice
A cube has six faces and twelve sides. It can be stacked and built into walls. The walls form houses and architecture, while seeing through the cubes is impossible. Like in a Mahjong game, in b:ing they visually reveal what lies underneath and form a mobile game without rules. As if detached from the representation, the pixel-like cuboids float in space almost without suggesting anything in combination. There is no pictogram and therefore no symbol. The cuboids lie freely next to each other, like a chessboard without a checkerboard pattern. A cube or cuboid always appears in the game and reveals numbers or directions of movement. The geometric shape is always repeated in depth or surface. The shapes in b:ing are reminiscent of moving across the game board like in chess, except that no consistent movement pattern can be recognized. It is therefore important to take one thing out of the imagination. Like progressing through a dark forest, the confusion created by a lack of rules is repeated in the diffusion of the representation. Arrival is uncertain and there is a gradual movement in thoughts that follows the individual forms. What is happening has to be observed and a habit that would be reflected in the monotonous repetition of the cuboid shapes lying next to each other does not arise.
The theory of relativity unifies space and time. But it does not treat time like an additional spatial dimension. There is an objective difference between space-like and time-like distances. Relationships to one another can only arise if there are space-time distances that are either time-like or light-like. If there were interactions between events that are spatially separated, there would be temporal paradoxes. For example, it would be conceivable to change one’s own past using a second reference system. – The change of space and time in a four-dimensional space-time has important consequences for an understanding of time. According to the theory of relativity, there is no objective simultaneity that is independent of reference systems. Only spatially separated events can be simultaneous in time. The adverb now therefore does not refer to an unknown set of simultaneous events, but has the same meaning in the theory of relativity as the adverb here. It indicates the location of the event in space-time and just as can be anywhere here, can be anywhere now.
For every point in spacetime there is an objective past and future. Relativity commits us to time and existence, while existence refers to modes of time. Everything that is in time exists. Time and space exist in objective temporal distances between physical points. These distances allow a relative future and relative past to be determined for each point. The term block universe describes this view and the entire four-dimensional space-time with its entire content and makes the universe with its past and future appear as a single block. With GMT and UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), a uniform point in time can be determined globally and an objective temporal ordering of all spatial events in the world results. While the existences and events of the present moment and a past moment can be determined, those of the future are indeterminable. Spatial distances are overcome at low speeds instead of the speed of light. The fact that we have the final impression of the flow of time in our consciousness can still be taken into account in relativity physics and is also part of the block universe.
